Bruce Wayne needed his Bat Cave. Norm needed Cheers. Garth and Wayne needed their basement.
Every man needs his man cave. If you haven’t started building yours, or already have one that needs updating, this is the list for you. Check out these 11 amazing items that every dude needs in his man cave.
1. Humidor and Top Quality Cigars
A lot of care went into those top quality cigars you just purchased – and just like you need a man cave, they need a place to call home as well. That’s why you need to get yourself a humidor to keep them fresh and ready to smoke for when your buddies come over. Everything is a celebration when you fire up a good stogie.
2. A Pool Table, Ping Pong Table, Foosball Table
If you can fit it, you’ve got to go pool table. It’s the classiest, and will get the most use. Plus, being a good pool player is impressive and owning one will give you the chance to dust off your skills. If you’re not into pool, you could always go ping pong – they tend to get less use, but your buddies will love playing when they come over. Fooseball is a distant third in this race, but if you’re into it, they don’t take up too much space.
Plus, according to the old-ass ad above – pool is healthy!
3. Wingback or Lazy Boy Chairs
While your standard Lazy Boy is probably the most popular man cave chair among our readers, we’d be foolish not to mention the wingback option. They’ve got an old-school, smoke-a-cigar-and-have-a-bourbon feel to them. To quote The Dude and Walter in The Big Lebowski, they “really tie the room together.”
4. A Classy Bar Set

If you’re going to have a man cave, you need to be ready to prepare some drinks. The goal is to be able to whip up an Old Fashioned, a Negroni, or hell – even a Mai Tai – on a moments notice. Hey, it’s your man cave – have a fruity pink drink if you want.
5. Dart board

This one is totally up to your personal tastes. Love Crown Royal? Then this sign is the one for you. Movie geek? Get some Star Wars or Dirty Harry framed posters. Cleveland Browns fan? Throw up a poster of Tim Couch – actually, maybe it’s time to pick a new team.
7. A Good Selection of Video Game Systems
The PS4 is the ultimate system (in our opinion) – but if you really want to set up your man cave properly, you need options. We recommend investing in an N64, Super Nintendo, or Sega Genesis as well. There’s nothing like challenging your buddies to a game of Mario Kart or Street Fighter II.
8. A Keg-erator
This is next level stuff. Brewing your own beer is tons of fun and rewarding. Check out how to build one of these bad boys here.
9. A Top Shelf Whiskey Collection
Stock up on your favorites and do yourself a favor – try them side by side. Tastings are a great way to figure out what you actually enjoy. You may be surprised to find out that your brand of choice isn’t your favorite after all. If you’re an afficianado, try aging your own whiskey with one of these kits from Bespoke Post. The liquor tastes great, and it looks boss on your shelf.
10. Poker Table

Poker is the ultimate man cave activity, and a rustic pine octagon poker table makes sure that you’re hosting the weekly tournament. Seriously – how awesome is this thing? We’re putting an order in for the office right now.
11. A Bad Ass Book Shelf
Because it’s classy AF. Add some of the classics like Jack Kerouac’s On The Road and Hemingway’s The Sun Also Rises, mixed in with some of our favorite biographies like Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Total Recall: My Unbelievably True Life Story. We’re not just dumb-jocks watching Rocky in our man caves – show off your sophisticated gentleman side. Bespoke Post has a good selection of books to get you started.
